Mark Stuckey (NSW)

TR3A

1959 model - Commission # TS 62535 0

"I purchased the car from Nick and Carol Nowak in June 2011, with the car needing only minor front end servicing for full NSW registration. The only major work I have undertaken on the car is re-trimming it in red, from bone, taking the opportunity to replace and relocate some dash switching."

Mark previously owned the ex. Laurie Cousin; Peter Whelan; Rodney Teakle TR2. He sold it to Geoff Kelly who raced it and it is now in the care of David Orchard!! They get around.    See some photos of the TR2 below.

Nick Nowak purchased the car from someone in Redfern in November of 1987. Nick dismantled the car, repaired it as necessary and resprayed it. Apart from keeping the car in excellent mechanical order, Nick added a heater from a Japanese car (which works a treat) and an electric engine cooling fan.

These, and the inoperable steering wheel boss, account for the extra dash switches. The car has a Stage 2 Cylinder Head by Jimmy Wilkinson's Scientific Gas Flow.

The car is used regularly around Sydney and has now made the run between Canberra and Sydney a few times as well.

I am currently feeding the ‘bodywork piggy bank', but, despite being a little tatty and out of shape (front apron!), the body is rust free and sound so nothing will be happening in this regard terribly soon.

This photo must have been a while ago as I hadn’t yet fitted the TR2 grille and crank guide. I also note that the aero screens are missing. I must have put the windscreen on for the trip to Bathurst. How soft! The web manager took the shots, as I’m sure he’d recall and one can spy John Murn lining up behind me in one of the shots.
