Hugh Burrill has supplied these photos and details of the restoration of his TR3A shown above. He says:
"Details of the car are :

TR3A Commission No: TS 81854, Engine No: TS 82048E, Body No: EB 79965

The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certified Copy of Factory Record says that the car was built in December 1960 as a RHD, Export vehicle with Spa White exterior, Red trim and White hood. It was despatched on 5th January 1961 to the destination of Standard Cars, Sydney , Australia .

The car seems to have had an electric overdrive added (from a Vanguard it appears) since it arrived in Australia in 1961.

In May 2007 I purchased the TR3A from an old school friend of mine (Ian) from Brisbane who originally bought the car back in August 1978 from the previous owner (Mr T. O'Beirne of Riverview , Queensland ). Ian bought the car when the two of us were at Queensland University together and so I have some good memories of driving it around Queensland over 30 years ago. Ian last had the car running in 1984 and it was up on blocks since then.

In June 2007 I had the car transported down from Brisbane to Melbourne , directly to the Healey Factory in Ringwood where Ross McConnell is overseeing the full body-off restoration. The engine had seized up and so the engine and gearbox are also being reconditioned.

After meeting up with a number of Victorian members of the TR Register at a couple of social functions and also attending the 2007 Concours in Port Macquarie, I decided to have a few modifications done including an alternator to replace the generator, a rack and pinion steering, gas front shock absorbers, electric water and fuel pumps, extractors and hi-torque starter, and other minor changes. In terms of colour, I couldn't bring myself to go with the original Spa White colour but I intend to go with an Old English White cream colour and burgundy red trim.

I was hopeful that the car might have been ready for the 2008 Concours at Thredbo…. but, an annoying oil leak put paid to that (see page 2 )."
