David Thomson - TR3A - ACT
1960 Model - Commission No. TS 75096

The photo above was taken at the Canberra Concours 2014

David says:
" The pic above was taken at  the All British Day in Canberra 2007. I am quite attatched to it having owned it for 35 years. It lived up the street from me in Parhan Melbourne when I was in my late teens. The young owner took me for a spin around what is now the Albert Park F1 track and we did the "Imperial Ton" down the back straight. Very impressed needless to say. The blue car, as I call it, goes better than ever today with modern improvements such as Terry Goodall's rack and pinion steering."

David's other car: a 1980 American TR7 (V8 conversion)
A TR2 at the Schauinsland Klassic event near Freiburg, Germany this year. The Klassic goes for a week or so, and the run on this particular day was a hill climb up the Schauinsland road which they close off each year for the event. It has been going for many years and attracts some great cars. This is a nice car with Freiburg registration and the driver and his "riding mechanic" were Timo Mattmneller and Jana Rudolph. Good to see a young couple carrying on the tradition.

The TR3A was first registered in Vic (HGD167) on 7/10/60 with engine no. TS77232E. It was garaged close to David when he was at school and was the first car he travelled in at over 100 mph - on the back straight of the Albert Park circuit.

David bought the car at Queanbeyan in 1972 on his son's birthday weekend. It had previously been raced around the Canberra area.

The TR7 is a 1980 American TR7 imported into SA and converted to RHD and V8 by Triumph Engineering - registered here on 3/5/96
