Greg Says:

"I recently purchased TR3A (TR1959) from Julian Beaumont, a member of the TR Register. The car has come with an extensive record of receipts including rego receipts from previous owners dating back to 1979. I also have original service manuals and early Moss catalogues.

The car will be worked on over the next 12 months to upgrade mechanical components including suspension, steering and performance to improve overall handling so that I can enter various events including rallies with the TR-Register, Classic Rally Club and the odd historic track days.

I’ve been in the classic BMW space for many years but felt there was something missing…oil and water beneath the TR ! I’ve been enjoying every minute of the car and try to take it out daily. Living in the Southern Highlands gives me that opportunity.

I intend using the car not store it. Having said that my usual requirement is to have the beast looking fairly impressive. I look forward to learning more about the TR-Register and meeting various members."

"The restoration proceeds with a mixed bag of pics from the early breakdown to individual panel beaten panels. Fortunately most of the panels are rust free.

The dents tell a different story. Possibly the car has done a bit of track work?

All panel have undergone a full transformation….no filler. I’ve extensively sourced new bits. The workshop is enthusiastic enough to feature the car in an upcoming classic car exhibition in Berrima is September." Hopefully more photos then!
