The POWDER BLUE CLUB

David Thomson - ACT - 1960 TR3A

TS 75096

The car was first registered in Vic (HGD167) on 7/10/60 with engine no. TS77232E. It was garaged close to David when he was at school and was the first car he travelled in at over 100 mph - on the back straight of the Albert Park circuit. David bought the car at Queanbeyan in 1972 on his son's birthday weekend. It had previously been raced around the Canberra area.

David says:
" The pic above was taken at  the All British Day in Canberra 2007. I am quite attatched to it having owned it (then) for 35 years. It lived up the street from me in Parhan Melbourne when I was in my late teens. The young owner took me for a spin around what is now the Albert Park F1 track and we did the "Imperial Ton" down the back straight. Very impressed needless to say. The blue car, as I call it, goes better than ever today with modern improvements such as Terry Goodall's rack and pinion steering."
