Simon describes the restoration as follows:

"The car is a 1960 TR3A Model, Commission number TS 75097 and I purchased it in Sydney from Greg Tailby on the 2nd of August 1995, in an unregistered state. It had last been registered in Victoria up until October 1983. The car's previous owners had included Ken Copeland and Brian Smith.

The car was re-registered in New South Wales in October 1995 and driven in a rough but regular basis until it went through a complete restoration in 2001. This included a 'Full body off' restoration by Mike Larkman and included repairs to floor pans and sills, new inner guards fabricated, chassis sandblasted and painted black, new bonnet and boot hinges, hardware rechromed, new upholstery ( leather ), new carpets and trim, new sidescreens and fittings, new tonneau. The car was repainted in 2 pack in the Colour of Signal Red. ( Larkman Red )

The mechanical renovation by Terry Goodall included -
Full motor reconditioning with new 87mm pistons, new liners, 3070 Wade camshaft, balanced, hard valve seats on the exhaust side, Holden 6 cylinder harmonic balancer and modified Ford Falcon XA Clutch. The Radiator was re-cored and reconditioned and a new electric fan fitted.
The car has had the following modifications from standard which include: Triumph 2000 - 4speed Synchro Gearbox with Vanguard 2890 Overdrive, Morris Cooper S Brake Booster ( VH 44 ), Aeroscreens, Rack and Pinion Steering, 60 Spoke Wide Wire Wheels, HI Torque Starter Motor and Powertune Extractors.
