Factory RHD, Melbourne delivered 10 / 8 / 1960.

This well known TR within the TR Register Australia, Triumph Sports Owners Association of Victoria, The Victorian Historic Racing Register, and MSCA, is offered for sale. I have owned and enjoyed this car since 1988, when I bought it from Brian Richards.

During my 30 year ownership, I have competed in club sprints, Historic Regularity events, 6 Hour Relays, hillclimbs, plus many social drives.

I retired the TR from competition several years ago, and under took a mild body restoration which involved a full professional repaint and minor panel work, and returned it to original road specification.

Also undertaken:

* The competition Engine was replaced with the original motor which has been fully rebuilt,

* New 87 mm Pistons and liners,

* Crankshaft machined with new mains and big ends, 1st undersize,

* Crank crack tested, heat treated and nitrated, lightened flywheel and clutch , all balanced,

* Oil pump rebuilt to factory tolerances,

* Camshaft reground to fast road specs by Clive Cams,

* Head, valves, springs, rockers refurbished,

* Radiator reconditioned, new water pump,

* Gearbox and Overdrive serviced by Geoff Kelly,

* New Front springs and Shockers,

* Brake and clutch master cylinders, slave cylinders and front callipers all been rebuilt,

* 60 Spoke wire wheels, as new 165 x 15 Pirelli Tyres,

* All instruments are correct for this model and work properly,

* Very tidy upholstery, new black carpet,

* Good hood and tonneau. Side curtains quite usable but could be improved,

* Exterior panel and paint work is really beautiful,

* The car is on the Victorian club permit scheme, Number CH 1465, which is not transferable.

* I will supply a RWC if required.

My car has been driven by Allan Moffat in a couple of demonstrations, which he tells me brought back fond memories of his own 3A which was his first entered car in competition in Australia.

My reason for sale is that I have another TR 3A and too many other cars, and am not driving any of them enough and would like the next custodian to enjoy the 3A as I have.

I welcome any enquiries and will gladly answer any questions.
