Here is some more interesting background on this car, courtesy of Viv Paine:

"Bob's TR3A is the ex David Bills car with TR3300 plates from Hobart.

David, who was Tasmanian Head of Forests for a major public company, decided to take a similar position in the UK. Before leaving he needed to sell his immaculate TR3A, MGA Twin Cam and Austin Healey, all kept in a heated garage in Hobart ready for weekend getaways. Being unable to find a local buyer, David ferried the 3A over to Melbourne for viewing in the underground car park of his company in St Kilda Road.

At that time my then neighbour Bryan Wicke decided he wanted a TR3A, so we both went to look at David's car and Bryan bought it on the spot. It turned out to be a very good car with much money spent so it didn't leak even the smallest drop of oil (almost impossible). Its effective black trim piped red (instead of white) was David Bill's personal touch.

Bryan and I attended many classic car shows and historic race events in the ex Hobart 3A before Bryan eventually sold it to Terry O'Neill of Wheelers Hill, Melbourne, so he could acquire a TR3B.

Thereafter it wasn't seen for many years before surfacing in WA. On the journey it's acquired a few additions - chrome edge beading, spotlights and a decent sized pair of side mirrors."
