The 1985 TR Register Concours conducted at Albury is memorable (for a number of reasons )
It was during this week-end gathering of the faithful, with some 35 members present, that Brian Richards presented life membership to John Murn, Alan Mitchell and Shirley Pitman at the evening dinner venue ( members only being charged $ 5.00 per head).
Following a suggestion from Andrew Gibson, that the Register meet at Albury, it was Albury member David Fraser who then organised the whole week-end and arranged with Clive MacDonald to use his caravan sales centre, on the Hume Highway, as the Concours venue. The weather was ideal and the BRG TR3 of Roger Walker’s took out the Laurie Cousin Trophy. Overall, the display of sidescreen TRs created a lot of interest and the event appeared as a local news item on the Sunday nights TV.
Another memorable part of the week-end was on the Sunday the group headed to the Hume Weir Circuit for a drivers testing day. Andrew Gibson in his TR3A took out the Trophy for the fastest TR.
(Again David and the Riverina Sportscar Association had organised everything).
